چکیده

Abstract This article presents a critical look at the standard theory of bright and dark photorefractive screening solitons. We pay attention to commonly overlooked fact inconsistency in context accordance soliton solution with microscopic band transport models. Taking into account material equations for semi-insulating semiconductor (SI-GaAs) including nonlinear hot electrons, simple differential equation has been developed determine distribution refractive index changes localized optical beam. An amendment (1 + 1)D solitons proposed, which particularly should be used obtain plausible self-consistent solutions

Spatial soliton pairs in an unbiased photovoltaic-photorefractive crystal circuit

: Optical separate spatial dark and bright soliton pairs in steady-state case in one dimension, for a series circuit consisting of two-photon photorefractive (PR) crystal are investigated. Each crystal can be supported the spatial soliton, and at least one must be photovoltaic. The two solitons are known collectively as separate spatial soliton pairs with dark–dark, bright–dark and bright–brigh...

Gallium-Arsenide Process Evaluation Based on a RISC Microprocessor Example

This work evaluates the features of a galliumarsenide E/D MESFET process in which a 32-b RISC microprocessor was implemented. The design methodology and architecture of this prototype CPU are described. The performance sensitivity of the microprocessor and other large circuit blocks to different process parameters is analyzed, and recommendations for future process features, circuit approaches,...

Coupled photorefractive spatial-soliton pairs

We provide a comprehensive experimental and theoretical study of incoherently coupled photorefractive spatial-soliton pairs in all three possible realizations: bright–bright, dark–dark, and dark–bright. We also show that when the total intensity of two coupled solitons is much lower than the effective dark irradiance, the coupled soliton pair is reduced to Manakov solitons. In all cases, mutual...

Mutual spatial-soliton trapping in photorefractive media: experiment versus theory

We investigate the interaction of two-dimensional solitons propagating at small angles in a photorefractive crystal. We observe fusion of the beams when the intersecting angle is lower than some critical value. We measure the critical angle for fusion for different relative phase relations of the beams and demonstrate how this effect can be used to steer and switch the propagation of an additio...

Spatial Resolution Measurements of Gallium Arsenide Microstrip Detectors

Results are reported from beam test measurements of one of the first commercial prototype gallium arsenide microstrip detectors. The detector consisted of 128 strips on a 50μm pitch, with a wafer thickness of 200μm. Operating at a bias of 180V, the detector produced a signal to noise ratio of 19 to 1, with a particle detection efficiency of better than 99%. The spatial resolution of the detecto...
